Why we built this firm — and what drives us.
Ohana Healthcare Partners was founded on a simple observation: the organizations most committed to health equity are most likely to be left behind in healthcare’s digital transformation.
As a licensed psychologist and BCBA-D who spent more than 25 years building programs, navigating managed care, and working inside the systems that serve underserved communities, I watched this pattern repeat itself. Consultants who didn’t understand clinical workflows. Technology implementations that didn’t account for organizational culture. Strategic plans that looked good on paper and died in execution. And organizations — hardworking, mission-driven, undercapitalized — paying for advice they couldn’t use.
I founded Ohana to do it differently.
Ohana means family in Hawaiian. It reflects how we work: with commitment, with care, and with accountability for outcomes — not just deliverables. We are invested in the organizations we serve. We stay through implementation. We build internal capacity so that when we leave, the work continues.
Our name also reflects who we are building toward: a future where the communities that have been most excluded from quality healthcare have access to organizations that are modern, capable, and resourced to serve them well.
